Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club Showcases Cultural Vitality And Community Commitment In Annual Day Celebration

Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon celebrated its Annual Day along with Bal Bhawan at the township premises with a vibrant cultural showcase themed “ऋतु का त्योहार” (Festival of Seasons). More than just a celebration, the event reaffirmed the Club’s growing role in community engagement, social awareness, and creative empowerment within the NTPC Bongaigaon ecosystem.

The event was graced by Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Kasturi Maitra, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M), Soumya Kar, Vice President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, along with departmental heads, officers, employees, and their families.

Organised by the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club and supported by women employees of NTPC Bongaigaon, the celebration opened with interactive games and a traditional welcome ceremony. The evening unfolded through a series of soulful performances, including a tribute to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, a delightful “Krishna Lila” and a thought-provoking presentation on “Pancha Tatwa”, where children depicted the five elements of nature. In her welcome address, Club President Kasturi Maitra spoke of the Club’s inclusive approach and its commitment to fostering harmony, learning, and wellness in the township and beyond. Treasure Amrita Singh presented the Annual Report, highlighting welfare activities, skilling efforts, and outreach undertaken throughout the year.

One of the major attractions of the evening was the “ऋतु का त्योहार” segment, which brought alive the Indian seasons through colorful visuals, stories, and thematic presentations. In his keynote remarks, Arnab Maitra commended the Ladies Club not only for its creative brilliance but for its increasing societal relevance. Shri Maitra noted that the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club had evolved as a driving force for positive change in the NTPC township and surrounding communities—be it through women’s empowerment, educational support, health awareness, or community outreach. He remarked that such forums go far beyond cultural expression; they represent NTPC Bongaigaon’s social conscience in action. He encouraged continued synergy between employees and families in sustaining this momentum of change.

The programme concluded with prize distribution and a vote of thanks, leaving behind an atmosphere of celebration, inspiration, and community unity. By weaving culture with cause, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club continues to emerge as a meaningful contributor to NTPC’s broader vision of responsible and inclusive development.
