PNB Honours Martyr Subedar Major Pawan Kumar With ₹1.10 Crore Support Under Rakshak Plus Scheme

Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India’s leading public sector banks, extended financial assistance of ₹1.10 crore to the family of martyr Subedar Major Pawan Kumar under its Rakshak Plus Scheme, a dedicated salary account scheme for serving personnel of defence and allied services.
The financial aid was handed over to Sushma Devi, wife of the martyr, by Sanjay Dhar, Circle Head, PNB Dharamshala. The amount includes ₹1 crore under the Personal Accidental Insurance Scheme (PAIS) and an additional ₹10 lakh under the PAI cover for casualties in cross-border firing.
Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra, Executive Director, PNB, remarked, “The courage and dedication shown by our soldiers are the backbone of our nation’s security. At PNB, we are proud to honour their legacy by extending timely financial support to their families. This gesture reaffirms our pledge to always stand by our defence personnel and their loved ones.”
The Rakshak Plus Scheme offers comprehensive financial protection, including:
- Personal accidental insurance of ₹1 crore in case of death or permanent total disability
- Air accidental coverage of ₹1.5 crore
- Partial disability cover
- Other benefits tailored to the needs of armed forces personnel.
