Varanasi Emerges As New Industrial Hub In Purvanchal Under CM Yogi’s Leadership

48 units commence operations with ₹1,180.95 crore investment, creating 3,472 jobs

Under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Varanasi is rapidly transforming into a major industrial hub of Purvanchal. With enhanced law and order, upgraded infrastructure, and proactive industrial policies, the region is now attracting significant private sector investments.

As a direct result of initiatives like the Global Investors Summit, 48 industrial projects involving a total investment of ₹1,180.95 crore have become operational in Varanasi, creating 3,472 employment opportunities, according to Vinod Verma, Assistant Commissioner, District Industry Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Center.

Verma further revealed that another 48 projects, worth an estimated ₹5,702.18 crore, are set to begin operations soon. These ventures are expected to generate jobs for an additional 12,110 people, signaling a robust industrial upsurge in the region.

Among the major players who have already started operations are Saaswad Heat Transfer and Engineering Pvt. Ltd. and DoubleTree by Hilton, a globally recognized hotel chain. Logistics and warehousing have also gained momentum with the inauguration of OWM Logistics’ warehouse, established in partnership with Flipkart, and the successful launch of Amazon’s contracted warehouse operated by Madhavan LLP.

In the hospitality and tourism sector, the iconic Banaras Beads Ltd. is collaborating with Tata Group’s Indian Hotels Company Ltd. to set up a Ginger Budget Hotel, now under construction.

Also in the pipeline are high-profile projects like the Roma Entertainment City, a garment export unit by Arvind Limited, and Campa Cola’s bottling facility by BD Foods and Beverages Pvt. Ltd.

The projects span various sectors including hospitality, logistics, textiles, tourism, food & beverages, wellness, IT, and education, demonstrating the state’s commitment to diversified industrial development. While several units have already commenced operations, others are expected to go live in the coming months, marking a significant leap for Varanasi’s economic landscape.

With these developments, Varanasi is poised to become a model for industrial growth in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, reinforcing the state government’s vision of inclusive and regionally balanced economic progress.
