Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Highlights Uttarakhand’s Energy Potential At All India Oil Sector Meet
CM Applauded ONGC for its contribution to India's energy sector, as the PSU is responsible for nearly 70% of the country’s crude oil production

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the All India Oil Sector Meet held at the ONGC Community Centre in Dehradun on Saturday, emphasizing the state’s commitment to becoming an energy hub under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is working in sync with the principles of economy, ecology, and technology to promote clean and green energy. He highlighted the Chief Minister Solar Self-Employment Scheme as a flagship initiative to encourage renewable energy, and added that major hydroelectric projects such as Tehri, Koteshwar, Pipalkoti, Lakhwar, and Vishnugad are pivotal in transforming Uttarakhand into a power surplus state.

Dhami pointed out the immense potential for geo-thermal energy in the state, which the government is actively exploring. He stressed that natural resources are vital for national growth, with fuel playing a key role in both development and everyday life.

Applauding ONGC for its contribution to India’s energy sector, he noted that the company is responsible for nearly 70% of the country’s crude oil production and 84% of its natural gas output, underscoring its role in ensuring national energy security.
The Chief Minister also lauded Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a self-reliant and developed India by 2047, stating that petroleum reserves, green hydrogen initiatives, and the promotion of solar energy are key pillars of the country’s energy roadmap. He also mentioned the expansion of gas pipelines under the One Nation, One Grid initiative, establishment of Bio-CNG plants, and transformative schemes like the Ujjwala Yojana, which have revolutionized access to clean cooking fuel.

He noted that ONGC has undertaken multiple beneficial projects in Uttarakhand and praised the organization for its ongoing contributions to the state.
The event was also attended by Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh President Hiranmay Pandya, along with Anupam, Gopal Joshi, Neeraj Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Devendra Bisht, Sumit Singhal and other dignitaries.
