Rajendra Prasad Goyal Assumes Additional Charge As CMD Of NHPC Limited
A stalwart in the power sector, Goyal began his career with NHPC on November 18, 1988


Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Director (Finance) of NHPC Limited, has taken over the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower PSU and a Navratna Enterprise of the Government of India, with effect from July 1, 2025.
This is the second time Goyal has assumed this responsibility, having earlier held the charge from March 1, 2024, to August 7, 2024. A stalwart in the power sector, Goyal began his career with NHPC on November 18, 1988, as a Finance professional. Over the past 36 years, he has risen through the ranks with commitment, integrity, and dedication, playing a pivotal role in the financial and operational growth of the organization.
A member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Goyal also holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He possesses extensive expertise in core financial areas, along with a deep understanding of contractual and regulatory matters crucial to the development and operation of hydropower projects.
In addition to his current roles, Goyal serves as the Chairman of Jal Power Corporation Limited (JPCL), Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL), and NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL). He is also a Nominee Director on the Boards of several NHPC subsidiaries including NHDC Limited, Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL), Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (RHPCL), and Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Limited (LDHCL). Furthermore, he holds the position of Director (Finance) at the National Power Training Institute, Faridabad.
