Uttarakhand CM Inaugurates And Lays Foundation Stone Of Projects Worth ₹550 Crore In Haridwar
Pushkar Singh Dhami issues stern warning to corrupt, emphasises on zero-tolerance policy towards corruption

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 107 development projects worth ₹550 crore during the Vikas Sankalp Parv organized at Rishikul Maidan, Haridwar. The Chief Minister also made 13 key announcements aimed at accelerating the all-round development of the district.

Addressing the large gathering, CM Dhami declared a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, stating, “The corrupt should be ready to go to jail.” He emphasized that the government’s development initiatives were aimed at improving basic infrastructure and public welfare.

Major Project Announcements
CM Dhami announced and detailed several infrastructure and welfare projects including:
- Construction of a lake for irrigation in Laladhang and upgrading of PHC to CHC
- Road widening and new construction projects in Bhagwanpur, Sikrauda, and Jhabreda areas
- Establishment of a degree college in Niranjanpur and upgrade of high school in Mubarakpur-Alipur
- Bridges across Saulani and Ganga rivers at Dhadeki and Giddhawali
- Crematorium and boundary wall works in Mewad Nagd and Mohammadpur Panda
- Water drainage and canal-side CC roads in Mohammadpur Jatgaon
Financial Assistance Distributed
On the occasion, cheques totaling ₹75.81 lakh were distributed to beneficiaries under various schemes. Highlights include:
- ₹2 lakh to Laxmi SHG (NRLM)
- ₹21 lakh to Ujala CLF and ₹6 lakh to Aastha CLF (Gramothan Project)
- ₹30 lakh to Meenakshi Devi (Animal Husbandry Dept)
- ₹1.6 lakh to Akash Kashyap (Cooperative Dept)
- Keys to a PM Awas Yojana beneficiary
Four Years in Office
The Chief Minister marked the completion of four years in office, having assumed charge on July 4, 2021. Recalling his journey, he said, “It is with the blessings of Maa Ganga and the trust of the people that I have been able to serve Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.”

Focus on Welfare and Growth
Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, CM Dhami highlighted major welfare schemes being implemented across the state:
- Mukhyamantri Nari Shaktikaran Yojana
- Mahalakshmi Yojana, Vatsalya Yojana, Aanchal Amrit Yojana
- Promotion of self-employment through Home Stay, Lakhpati Didi, and Solar Self-Employment Schemes
He noted that Uttarakhand ranked first in the country on the Sustainable Development Goals Index by NITI Aayog and achieved a 4.4% drop in unemployment, surpassing the national average.
Big Push for Haridwar Development
The Chief Minister outlined the government’s commitment to transforming Haridwar into a world-class religious city, with projects like:
- Haridwar-Rishikesh Corridor
- Ropeway projects to Maa Chandi Devi and Maa Mansa Devi
- Pod taxis to decongest traffic
- A heliport and new hanging bridges
Strong Stance on Law and Order
CM Dhami reiterated his government’s strict stance on social and legal issues:
- Implementation of Uniform Civil Code, anti-conversion and anti-riot laws
- Crackdown on paper leaks with strict anti-cheating law resulting in over 23,000 clean recruitments
- Over 200 individuals jailed in anti-corruption actions in the past three and a half years
Commitment to Making Uttarakhand the Best State
Reaffirming his resolve, CM Dhami said, “Uttarakhand is moving forward where development is the priority, honesty is the identity, and service is the resolution.”
The event saw participation from senior leaders including BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, MPs Kalpana Saini and Naresh Bansal, former CM Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and MLAs Madan Kaushik and Adesh Chauhan. Officials such as District Magistrate Mayur Dixit and SSP Pramod Singh Dobal were also present.
Stalls from departments including Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Silk, Women Empowerment, Health, and Industry showcased their schemes for public awareness.
