Major Income Tax Raids In Chhattisgarh: SECL Manager And CA Among Those Targeted, Multiple Locations Searched
Raids Conducted in Bilaspur, Manendragarh, and Chirmiri, raiding team officials tight-lipped

In a major crackdown on alleged tax evasion, the Income Tax Department conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations across Chhattisgarh on Monday morning. The action is reportedly linked to a case involving South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).
According to initial information, IT teams arrived around 8 AM at the residence of a Manager of SECL’s opencast mine in Podhi Nawapara, Chirmiri, and at the home of a chartered accountant based in Manendragarh. Teams arrived in four vehicles, surrounded the premises, and began scrutinizing documents.
Sources confirm that apart from Chirmiri and Manendragarh, searches were also conducted at over half a dozen locations in Bilaspur and the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district.
As of now, the Income Tax Department has not released any official statement regarding the raids. Officials are maintaining silence and have declined to share any information until the investigation is complete.
Preliminary reports suggest the searches were based on complaints of tax evasion and suspicious financial transactions. More details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
