Uttarakhand Government Signs LOI with Germany’s Rhine-Main Innovation Hub to Boost Global Opportunities for Youth

LOI to open doors for collaboration in vocational training, hydrogen technology, and startup ecosystem

A Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed between the Government of Uttarakhand and the Germany-based Innovation Hub Rhine-Main at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday. The agreement aims to provide global opportunities for the skilled youth of Uttarakhand in sectors such as healthcare, automobile, vocational training, hydrogen and renewable energy technology, and innovation-driven startups in Germany.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the initiative, calling it an important step toward linking Uttarakhand’s youth with international employment avenues. “There is no dearth of talent in Uttarakhand. The state government is focusing on skill development and ensuring that the youth are trained as per the demands of global markets. Alongside technical training, arrangements for foreign language learning have also been made. Many youth from the state are now working abroad after undergoing such training,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that the government is committed to creating more pathways for employment by strengthening skill training programs and expanding collaborations with international partners.

The signing ceremony was attended by Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna, Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, senior officials Vinay Shankar Pandey and C. Ravishankar, along with a German delegation led by Raunheim city Mayor David Rendle, Advisor to Germany’s Foreign Investment Cell Saurabh Bhagat, and CEO of Rhine-Main Innovation Hub Stefan Wittekind.
