Uttarakhand Landslide: 19 NHPC Workers Trapped Inside Dhauliganga Power Project
Machines deployed to restore access; officials confirm all workers safe

Nineteen employees of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) were trapped inside the powerhouse of the Dhauliganga Hydroelectric Project on Sunday after a landslide, triggered by heavy rains, blocked both the normal and emergency tunnels leading to the facility in Ealagarh area near Dharchula, officials confirmed.
State authorities said that machinery has been pressed into service to clear the debris, and the passage is expected to be restored by evening, enabling the safe evacuation of the trapped workers.

Despite the continuous falling of debris, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has deployed JCB machines to speed up the clearing operation. Officials assured that all workers are safe inside the powerhouse, and power generation from the project remains unaffected.
