Assurances Only, No Concrete Relief Yet for MTNL Officials

The Forum also raised several field-related problems, which the management had promised to examine and resolve

Once again, officials and employees of MTNL were left with assurances but no tangible outcomes after a meeting with the management over long-pending financial issues.

About 10 days back, MTNL Executives Association General Secretary V. K. Tomar and MTNL Mazdoor Sangh General Secretary Dharamraj Singh met CMD MTNL Ravi Robert Jerard and Director (HR) to follow up on the crucial issue of financial upgradation, earlier discussed with the CMD and the Board of Directors.

The Forum representatives pressed strongly for the restoration of financial upgradation, stressing that its discontinuation not only leads to immediate financial losses for employees but also negatively affects their pensionary benefits and PF entitlements.

In response, the CMD and Director (HR) assured that the matter is under “positive consideration” and would be placed before the Board of Directors shortly. However, no concrete decision was conveyed.

At the same time, the CMD appealed to employees and officers to extend active support in MTNL’s revival efforts, including recovery of pending bills, promotion of 4G SIM sales, and improving service quality.

The Forum also raised several field-related problems, which the management promised to examine and resolve.

For now, however, employees see the outcome as another round of assurances without results, keeping the long-pending demands unresolved.
