SCOPE and IIM Calcutta Launch Advanced Global Leadership Program
A total of 38 senior executives representing 13 PSUs from diverse sectors are participating in the three-week initiative

The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) has launched the second edition of its flagship Advanced Global Leadership Program (AGLP 2.0) in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta) to nurture the next generation of board-level leaders for Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
The program was inaugurated in Kolkata by Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE & ILO Governing Body Member, in the presence of Prof. R. Rajesh Babu, Dean (Executive Education), IIM Calcutta, along with Program Directors Prof. Prashant Mishra and Prof. Biswatosh Saha.
A total of 38 senior executives representing 13 PSUs from diverse sectors are participating in the three-week initiative. The program will feature intensive workshops at IIM Calcutta and SCOPE, New Delhi, followed by an International Study-cum-Business Tour, offering participants exposure to global business practices.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sobti underlined the pivotal role of leadership in driving excellence, innovation, and transformation in PSEs. He emphasized SCOPE’s commitment to creating future-ready leaders who can align organizational growth with national priorities and international standards.
Prof. Rajesh Babu highlighted IIM Calcutta’s long-standing partnership with SCOPE, reaffirming the institute’s focus on executive development and leadership training. He noted that programs such as AGLP play a crucial role in building a cadre of visionary public sector leaders.
AGLP 2.0 has been designed to impart strategic foresight, a global outlook, and adaptive leadership skills. By preparing executives to navigate complex challenges and rapidly evolving business environments, the initiative seeks to empower leaders to drive sustained growth and competitiveness in India’s public sector.
