Inauguration of New Public Toilet and Elevators at CCL Headquarters for especially abled persons

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) Headquarters at Darbhanga House has taken a significant step towards creating a cleaner and more accessible workplace by introducing new public toilets and installing Divyangjan-friendly lifts across its campus.

These public utility facilities were inaugurated by Harshnath Mishra, Director (Human Resources), CCL, in the presence of respected representatives of various labour unions. After the inauguration, Mishra inspected the newly developed amenities and issued necessary guidelines to ensure their efficient operation, upkeep, and long-term maintenance.

The event was attended by members of the Welfare Board, including Rajesh Kumar Singh (RKMU, Dhori Area), Vindhyachal Bedia (UCWU, Barka-Sayal), Pradeep Kumar Vishwas (NCOEA, Kathara), Arvind Kumar Sharma (UCWU, Piparwar), Sukhdev Prasad (JMS, Barka-Sayal), Rameshwar Mandal (CCL CKS, Kathara), Mukesh Kumar (CCL CKS, Amrapali-Chandragupta), Anoop Singh (CCL CKS, Headquarters), and D.N. Singh (Chairman, CMOAI / General Manager – Mining Operations, CCL, Ranchi).

General Managers and Heads of Departments from Officer Establishment, Civil, HR, Electrical & Mechanical, Finance, Staff Establishment, Administration, Social Security, CMS, and the Technical Secretary to Director (HR) were also present.

As part of CCL’s broader initiative to improve accessibility, new elevators in Kaveri Bhawan, Damodar Bhawan, and Swarnarekha Bhawan were inaugurated. These lifts will ensure easier movement for employees, visitors, and especially Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) within the multi-storey buildings.

Trade union members, officers, and employees from several departments welcomed the initiative, describing it as a meaningful step towards human-centric development and accessible infrastructure at CCL.
