The Vindhyachal station begins a structured CII-led evaluation of its HR practices and people-focused initiatives

NTPC Vindhyachal formally commenced its CII HR Excellence Assessment Journey on Monday at the Administrative Building, marking a significant milestone in the station’s pursuit of people-centric organisational excellence.

The programme opened with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the rendition of the NTPC Geet, symbolising the organisation’s enduring values and legacy. The CII assessment team was accorded a warm and traditional welcome with Shrifals and shawls in the gracious presence of Sanjib Kumar Saha, Chief General Manager (Vindhyachal), along with members of the senior management team.

Addressing the gathering, Saha expressed sincere gratitude to the CII assessors for their time and guidance. He reaffirmed that NTPC Vindhyachal remains open, receptive and committed to constructive feedback, underscoring the station’s focus on continuous improvement and people excellence.

The opening presentation was thoughtfully structured into four thematic segments, highlighting the station’s comprehensive excellence journey. An overview of the Indian power sector and the operational performance of NTPC Vindhyachal was presented by Ram Sewak Jaiswal, DGM (EEMG).

Kamna Sharma, DGM (HR) elaborated on the station’s holistic HR practices and impactful CSR initiatives, while Sourabh Banaudha, DGM (IT) showcased key digitalisation initiatives supporting operational and people transformation. Health and wellness initiatives were succinctly highlighted by Dr Vertika Kulshrestha, Senior Specialist, Vindhya Hospital.

The session was further enriched by Deepak A. Deshpande, Lead Assessor, who shared valuable insights on the CII HR Excellence Model and outlined the way forward for the assessment process.

Adding a strong emotional and visual dimension, four films were screened during the session — a milestone film on NTPC’s illustrious journey, the corporate film of NTPC Vindhyachal, a moving short film capturing the gratitude of specially-abled employees, and “Shram Ki Roshni”, highlighting initiatives undertaken for the contractual workforce.

The CII assessors appreciated the station’s hospitality and expressed keen interest in meaningful learning and knowledge exchange during the engagement. The programme was seamlessly coordinated and anchored by Purnima Chaturvedi, Senior Manager (HR) and concluded with a vote of thanks by Ruma De Sharma, Head of HR (Vindhyachal).
