RINL–Visakhapatnam Steel Plant General Foreman KVLN Reddy Donates Blood for 63rd Time
A Ray of Hope in a Time of Crisis - Reddy offers SDP to Save Young Life

In a deeply inspiring act of compassion and humanitarian service, KVLN Reddy, General Foreman (Mechanical), Raw Material Handling Plant – Works Division at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, once again demonstrated the true spirit of service by donating Single Donor Platelets (SDP) to save the life of a young cancer patient.
The SDP donation was made in support of Kumar G. Ramyatha Achyutha (9), a resident of Jagannadhapuram in Bhimavaram, West Godavari district, who is currently undergoing treatment for blood cancer at Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Aganampudi. The child was battling a critical condition with a dangerously low platelet count of just 10,000, requiring urgent platelet support.
Without hesitation, Reddy stepped forward to donate, becoming a vital lifeline for the young patient and her family during a moment of extreme distress.
This noble act marks the 63rd blood donation by Sri KVLN Reddy, who belongs to the B Positive blood group. Notably, this is his second Single Donor Platelet (SDP) donation, a highly specialized procedure that plays a crucial role in supporting patients undergoing intensive cancer treatment.
An active Sevadal member associated with the Ukkunagaram Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Sri Reddy lives by the guiding principle of “Love All – Serve All.” Beyond his professional duties, he actively participates in social and spiritual service initiatives and is also known among colleagues and devotees as a gifted devotional singer.
His gesture goes far beyond a medical contribution — it reflects compassion, courage, and a deep commitment to humanity. Colleagues at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and members of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva family have widely appreciated his unwavering dedication to social service and selfless giving.
In times when hope often comes from unexpected places, KVLN Reddy’s act stands as a powerful reminder that individual compassion can truly save lives.
