NTPC Bongaigaon Employees Complete Full Marathon at Kokrajhar NCC Marathon

Demonstrating exceptional endurance, determination, and commitment to fitness, three employees of NTPC Bongaigaon successfully completed the Full Marathon (42 km) during the 2nd Edition of the Kokrajhar NCC Full Marathon, organised in association with the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Government under the theme “City of Peace.”
The three achievers — Shaik Muneer Basha, Additional General Manager (EMD), Jitendra Kumar Mohanty, Deputy General Manager (Mechanical Maintenance – Off Site), and Yadagiri Kurukondalu, Senior Manager (Planning & Services) — completed the demanding 42-km run, bringing laurels to the station and reflecting the strong culture of fitness and perseverance among NTPC employees.
In addition to the full marathon finishers, more than 30 employees and family members of NTPC Bongaigaon participated enthusiastically under the aegis of the Sports Council, NTPC Bongaigaon. Participants competed across multiple categories including the 5 km Run for Fun, 10 km race, and the 21 km Half Marathon, showcasing a spirit of unity, wellness, and sportsmanship.
Anurag Gupta, GM (O&M), NTPC Bongaigaon, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and actively participated by completing the 5 km run. He also flagged off the 21 km Half Marathon along with senior NCC officials, encouraging participants and promoting the message of a healthy and active lifestyle.
The marathon witnessed participation from more than 2,000 athletes and NCC cadets from across Assam, highlighting Kokrajhar as a symbol of peace, unity, and emerging tourism potential.
The achievement of NTPC Bongaigaon employees marks a proud moment for the organisation and reflects NTPC’s continued emphasis on the Fit India initiative, employee wellness, and community engagement in the region.
