HPCL Partners with IFSDMS to Strengthen Emergency Response through Live Fire Training

HPCL operates a vast network that includes refineries, depots, terminals, and more than 21,000 retail outlets across the country

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has signed an agreement with the Institute of Fire, Safety & Disaster Management Studies (IFSDMS) to enhance emergency response capabilities through specialised Live Fire Training for its officers.

The agreement was signed by Dharmendra Kumar Sharma, Executive Director – Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), HPCL, and Dharmendra Wakharikar, Chief Coordinator, IFSDMS, in the presence of Vikram Mahurkar, President, IFSDMS and Managing Director of Checkmate Group.

As a Maharatna CPSU and one of India’s leading oil and gas companies, HPCL operates a vast network that includes refineries, depots, terminals, and more than 21,000 retail outlets across the country. The collaboration with IFSDMS is aimed at strengthening the practical preparedness of HPCL personnel by complementing classroom learning with realistic live-fire simulations.

Located near Vadodara, IFSDMS is a specialised training facility spread over 75 acres, equipped with advanced infrastructure for fire and disaster management training. The centre features industrial mock-ups such as process units and LPG facilities, enabling trainees to experience emergency situations that closely replicate real industrial scenarios.

Through this partnership, HPCL seeks to further reinforce its safety culture, operational readiness, and emergency response capabilities, ensuring enhanced protection of critical energy infrastructure while improving resilience in managing industrial emergencies.
