NTPC Vindhyachal Champions Industrial Safety with Multi-District Training Initiative

NTPC Vindhyachal reinforced its commitment to industrial safety by organising a large-scale training programme at the Regional Learning Institute (RLI), in collaboration with the Directorate of Industrial Health & Safety, Madhya Pradesh.

The programme saw enthusiastic participation from over 90 professionals representing industries across multiple districts, including Singrauli, Satna, Rewa, Sidhi, Shahdol, and Anuppur.

The event was inaugurated by Gaurav Benal, IAS, District Collector, Singrauli, as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Namita Tiwari, Director (Industrial Health & Safety), Madhya Pradesh. Sanjib Kumar Saha, CGM (NTPC Vindhyachal), along with senior management officials, also graced the occasion. Key attendees included AJ Rajkumar (GM, O&M), M. Suresh (GM, Maintenance & ADM), SK Sinha (GM, Operation & FM), Ruma De Sharma (Head of HR), and Ashish Agarwal (AGM, Safety).

In his address, Benal administered the safety pledge and stressed the critical importance of strict adherence to safety standards for sustainable industrial growth. He underlined the need for continuous training of workers, with particular emphasis on road safety and mining safety.

Namita Tiwari elaborated on the provisions of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) Code, highlighting the importance of transparent reporting of safety incidents. She also spoke about key initiatives such as Shram Star Rating, Hurt-Free Days, Aaroh, and Fire Audit, aimed at strengthening workplace safety culture.

The programme featured expert sessions by Bhawna Kasturiya, who spoke on AI-driven safety solutions, chemical handling, and confined space safety—areas of increasing relevance in modern industrial operations.

Leading companies including Reliance Sasan, Hindalco Mahan, Adani Power, and NTPC Vindhyachal shared best practices in safety management, fostering valuable cross-industry learning. Additionally, M/s KARAM showcased advanced personal protective equipment (PPE) and modern safety solutions.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashish Kumar Agrawal, AGM (Safety). The initiative served as a significant platform for knowledge sharing, reinforcing safety awareness, and promoting collaboration among industries in the region.
