Natarajan is presently serving as Chief General Manager

The Government of India has approved the appointment of T. N. Natarajan as Director (Commercial) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), one of the country’s largest steel-producing public sector enterprises.
According to an official order issued by the Ministry of Steel, Natarajan, who currently serves as Chief General Manager (CGM) in SAIL, will hold the position for a tenure of five years from the date he assumes charge. His term will be subject to superannuation or further government directives, whichever comes earlier.
The appointment has been made with the approval of the President of India and follows due process involving the Public Enterprises Selection Board and the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
The detailed terms and conditions of his appointment will be issued separately by the government.
This leadership transition comes at a crucial time for SAIL as the company continues to strengthen its commercial strategies and market position in the evolving steel sector.
Natarajan is expected to play a key role in driving SAIL’s commercial operations, enhancing sales strategies, and improving profitability in an increasingly competitive global environment.
