Mahanagar Gas Assures Uninterrupted PNG & CNG Supply; Rolls Out Attractive Customer Benefits

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), one of India’s leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies, has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for households and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for transport across its operational geographies in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The assurance comes in alignment with the Natural Gas (Supply Regulation) Order 2026, issued on March 9, 2026, which classifies domestic PNG and CNG as top priority sectors.

MGL stated that robust measures are in place to maintain consistent and reliable supply across all its geographical areas, including Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayander, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Chitradurga, Davangere, Latur, and Dharashiv.

Customer-Centric Push to Boost PNG Adoption

For Domestic Consumers

MGL has unveiled a series of incentives to accelerate PNG penetration:

• ₹500 worth of free gas for new registrations (March 16 – April 30, 2026)
• ₹1,000 bill adjustment for customers in buildings with over 60% PNG penetration
• ₹500 instant discount on web registrations
• Waiver of minimum charges during non-usage periods
• Zero upfront registration charges (to be introduced soon; pay after conversion)
• Flexible payment plan options for customers

For Commercial Consumers

• Complete waiver of registration charges
• Downstream infrastructure development at MGL’s cost

These initiatives are designed to make PNG more accessible and cost-effective while ensuring high service reliability.

MGL has also issued a strong advisory to safeguard customers against fraud:

• Do not download APK files from unverified sources
• Never share OTPs or bank details
