Key Advisory: Curb Panic & Spread Accurate Information

  • States/UTs have been urged to conduct regular press briefings to counter misinformation.
  • Government cautioned citizens against panic buying of petrol and diesel, assuring adequate nationwide availability.

Fuel Supply Stable; Excise Cut to Protect Consumers

  • All refineries operating at high capacity with sufficient crude stocks.
  • Government reduced excise duty by ₹10/litre on petrol and diesel to cushion price rise.
  • Export levy imposed:
    • Diesel: ₹21.5/litre
    • ATF: ₹29.5/litre
  • All fuel retail outlets functioning normally across India.

Natural Gas Push: PNG Expansion Accelerated

  • 100% supply ensured for domestic PNG (D-PNG) and CNG transport.
  • Industrial supply maintained at 80% of average consumption.
  • National PNG Drive 2.0 extended till 30 June 2026.
  • Over 3.1 lakh connections gasified in March, with 2.7 lakh more underway.
  • CGD entities directed to:
    • Fast-track PNG connections for restaurants, hotels, hostels, community kitchens.

LPG Supply: Strong Distribution Despite Constraints

  • 50 lakh+ domestic LPG cylinders delivered daily since March 1.
  • No shortage reported at distributorships.
  • DAC-based delivery increased to 83% to prevent diversion.
  • Commercial LPG allocation increased to 70% of pre-crisis levels.

Support for Migrant Workers

  • Over 3.2 lakh 5 kg cylinders distributed since March 23.
  • 63,000 cylinders sold in a single day (latest data).

Kerosene Allocation Increased

  • Additional 48,000 KL kerosene allocated to States/UTs.
  • Special provisions enabled for distribution even in SKO-free regions.
  • 17 States/UTs have already issued allocation orders.

Maritime & Transport Operations Normal

  • Port operations remain smooth, with no congestion reported.
