Asha Malviya’s “Women Power–Patriotism” Mission Reaches CCL, Inspires Youth

Adventure cyclist, mountaineer, and national-level athlete Asha Malviya was accorded a warm welcome at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), as she continues her inspiring 7,800-kilometre solo bicycle expedition across India.
Carrying the powerful message of “Women Power – Patriotism,” Malviya began her journey from Jaipur on January 11, 2026, and is set to conclude it at Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh—one of India’s easternmost frontiers.
On behalf of CCL management, Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Mishra, Director (Human Resources) Harsh Nath Mishra, and Chief Vigilance Officer Pankaj Kumar extended a warm welcome to the athlete.
A Story of Grit and Determination
Hailing from Raigarh district of Madhya Pradesh, Asha Malviya’s journey is one of resilience and courage. Raised by her mother, Mrs. Raju Bai, after losing her father at the age of two, she overcame significant socio-economic challenges to carve a niche for herself in sports and adventure.
Through sheer determination and discipline, she has emerged as:
- A national-level sprinter (100m and 200m)
- A renowned mountaineer
- A long-distance cyclist with over 64,000 kilometres covered across expeditions
Her life story stands as a compelling example of perseverance against odds.
Inspiring the Next Generation
As part of her visit, an interactive motivational session was organized at the JSSPS Khelgaon (Hotwar) campus. The event saw enthusiastic participation from cadets and students of “CCL Ke Lal” and “CCL Ki Ladli” initiatives.
Malviya shared her journey, emphasizing:
