Domestic LPG Sales Remain Normal Across India Amid Global Energy Volatility: IOCL

India’s domestic LPG supply continues to remain stable, adequate, and under close monitoring, even as global energy markets witness turbulence due to ongoing geopolitical developments.
Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil) has reaffirmed that household LPG supply is being accorded the highest priority, ensuring uninterrupted access for consumers across the country.
The company is currently delivering around 28 lakh LPG cylinders daily, maintaining levels consistent with pre-crisis operations. This steady supply reflects the resilience of India’s energy distribution system despite external pressures.
Digital Bookings Surge to 87%
IndianOil has encouraged customers to adopt digital platforms such as SMS and IVRS for booking LPG refills. At present, nearly 87% of bookings are processed digitally, enhancing efficiency and reducing dependency on physical visits.
To ensure transparency and security, deliveries are being completed using Delivery Authentication Codes (DAC OTP), confirming that cylinders reach the intended customers.
Strict Action Against Malpractices
The Corporation has taken serious note of complaints regarding irregularities in LPG distribution. To combat black marketing and hoarding, IndianOil has deployed cross-functional teams for inspections.
- 7,500+ inspections conducted so far
- Action against 141 LPG distributors
- 5 distributors suspended
Additionally, coordinated efforts with state governments have intensified enforcement:
- 68,000 raids conducted
- 855 FIRs registered
- 48,000+ LPG cylinders seized

IndianOil has reassured customers that there is no shortage of LPG in the country. Consumers are advised to:
- Avoid panic booking or hoarding
- Refrain from queuing at distributorships unnecessarily
- Trust only official communication channels
