NTPC News: Vindhya Warriors Crowned Champions of NR IRSM 2025–26 Cricket Tournament

Rehan Nawaz Ahmed Kaifi’s explosive 75 powers Vindhya Warriors to a dominant 6-wicket victory over Dadri Legends in a thrilling NR IRSM 2025–26 final

In a thrilling and high-octane finale of the NR IRSM 2025–26 cricket tournament, Vindhya Warriors emerged as truly deserving champions with a commanding victory over Dadri Legends.

Winning the toss and opting to field first, Vindhyachal put up a disciplined bowling performance to restrict Dadri Legends to a competitive total of 180/5 in their allotted 20 overs. The chase, however, turned into a showcase of dominance as Vindhya Warriors displayed remarkable confidence and aggressive intent, comfortably reaching the target in just 17 overs with four wickets in hand.

The final witnessed several standout performances. Rehan Nawaz Ahmed Kaifi, Engineer (Operation), delivered a match-winning knock of 75 runs off just 28 balls, earning him the well-deserved Man of the Match award. From Dadri Legends, Sanju Dhaka, Manager (Operation), was honoured as Player of the Tournament as well as Best Batsman for his consistent performances throughout the series.

Among the bowlers, Anjanee Kumar, Junior Engineer (ADM) from Vindhyachal, was adjudged Best Bowler of the Tournament, while Ravikant Raminni, Senior Manager (RLI), received the Best Fielder award for his exceptional efforts on the field.

The closing ceremony was graced by senior leadership including AJ Rajkumar, GM (O&M); M. Suresh, GM (Maintenance & ADM); S.K. Sinha, GM (Operation & FM) and President of the Sports Council; Dr B.K. Bharali, GM (Medical Services); and Ruma De Sharma, Head of HR (Vindhyachal).

Congratulating the teams, AJ Rajkumar praised the players for their exemplary sportsmanship and competitive spirit. In his message, Sanjib Kumar Saha, CGM (Vindhyachal), highlighted that beyond victories and defeats, the true essence of the tournament lies in camaraderie, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Adding a memorable touch to the grand finale, a special video featuring players expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality and excellent arrangements by Team Vindhyachal was showcased.

Vindhyachal team captain Sunil Bhimavat, Senior Assistant Engineer (TAD), lauded Dadri Legends for their consistency and repeated appearances in the finals, reflecting the competitive spirit of the tournament.

The event concluded with Santosh Kumar, Deputy Manager (Operation) and General Secretary of the Sports Council, extending heartfelt thanks to all departments including HR, TAD, IT, Auto Base, RLI, and the organising committee for their seamless coordination and successful execution of the tournament.
