BPCL Signs MoU for 1.7 MW Rooftop Solar Project at Shirdi Temple Complex
The project will benefit over 10 lakh devotees annually who avail subsidized accommodation at Shirdi

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has strengthened its clean energy initiatives by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up a 1.7 MW grid-connected rooftop solar PV system at Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust (SSST), Shirdi.
The MoU was signed between Shri Bina Mansukh, CEO, BPCL Foundation, and Shri Goraksha Gadilkar, CEO, SSST, in the presence of Member of Parliament Shri Bhausaheb Wakchaure, along with senior officials from both organizations.
Under the agreement, BPCL Foundation will serve as the implementing agency, while SSST will execute the project. The initiative involves a financial outlay of approximately ₹4.45 crore and is slated for completion within 15 months.
Once operational, the solar installation is expected to generate substantial clean energy, leading to reduced electricity costs and lower carbon emissions at the temple complex.
Importantly, the project will benefit over 10 lakh devotees annually who avail subsidized accommodation at Shirdi, aligning with BPCL’s broader vision of sustainable infrastructure, responsible energy consumption, and community-focused development.
