NTPC Bongaigaon Marks World Earth Day with Plantation Drive
More than 30 saplings—including fruit-bearing and native species—were planted across the township and plant premises
In a tribute to the planet and its ecosystems, NTPC Limited’s Bongaigaon unit observed World Earth Day under the theme “Our Power, Our Planet” with a plantation drive organized by its Environment Management Group (EMG). The initiative reinforced the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable living.
Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, inaugurated the drive by planting saplings in the presence of senior officials from various departments. As part of the observance, more than 30 saplings—including fruit-bearing and native species—were planted across the township and plant premises.
On the occasion, Maitra emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in addressing climate change and conserving biodiversity. He also appreciated the EMG Department’s efforts in organizing the initiative and encouraged employees to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives.
