UP Government Gives Massive Metro Push To Noida: Two New Lines Worth Rs 2,670 Crore To Benefit Over 2 Lakh Daily Commuters

Sector 142-Botanical Garden and Bodaki extensions get approval; direct Delhi Metro and railway integration to transform Noida-Greater Noida commute

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved two major Noida Metro expansion projects worth nearly Rs 2,670 crore, giving a significant boost to public transport connectivity across Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi-NCR.

The projects, to be executed by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), are expected to benefit over 2 lakh daily commuters by improving Aqua Line connectivity and reducing road congestion.

Sector 142 To Botanical Garden Link

The biggest project is the 11.56-km metro corridor from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden, estimated to cost around Rs 2,254 crore. The new elevated line will have eight stations and provide a direct interchange between the Aqua Line and Delhi Metro at Botanical Garden.

This will sharply reduce travel time for office-goers and residents commuting between Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi.

Greater Noida Depot To Bodaki Railway Station

The second project is a 2.6-km extension from Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki Railway Station at a cost of about Rs 416 crore. Two new stations — Junpat and Bodaki — will be added under this plan.

The extension will connect the Aqua Line with Indian Railways, making train travel easier for Greater Noida residents.

Major Relief For NCR Commuters

Officials expect both corridors to significantly raise Aqua Line ridership and provide smoother travel options for students, professionals and daily passengers.

The new lines are also expected to reduce dependence on private vehicles and ease traffic pressure on Noida-Greater Noida roads.

Tendering for the projects is already underway and construction is likely to begin soon.

With these expansions, Noida is moving closer to becoming one of NCR’s best-connected metro regions.
