CMD BCCL Calls on Parliamentary Panel Chairman During Committee’s Study Tour
BCCL made a brief presentation highlighting its operational achievements, current initiatives and future roadmap

Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), paid a courtesy call on Anurag Singh Thakur, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal, Mines and Steel, during the Committee’s ongoing study tour. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Technical/Operations), BCCL, was also present on the occasion.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal, Mines and Steel, under the chairmanship of Anurag Singh Thakur, is on a study visit to Siliguri, Gangtok and Hyderabad from May 4 to 8, 2026. The tour is aimed at reviewing ongoing projects, production activities and regional challenges in the coal, mines and steel sectors, while gathering inputs for future policy formulation and sectoral development.
During the interaction, discussions were held on key issues concerning the coal industry, including enhancement of production capacity, adoption of advanced technologies, sustainable mining practices and measures to improve transparency and operational efficiency in public sector enterprises.
BCCL also made a brief presentation before the Committee, highlighting its operational achievements, current initiatives and future roadmap. The exchange is being viewed as a constructive step towards strengthening coordination between policymakers and industry stakeholders for the overall growth of the coal sector.
Such study tours by Parliamentary Committees play an important role in bridging field-level realities with national policy decisions, thereby helping formulate more practical and effective development strategies.
