Coal India’s Green Initiative: EV Tippers and Car Pooling Made Mandatory Across All Subsidiaries

Fuel conservation is now being treated as a part of corporate responsibility within Coal India Limited

Acting on the call of Narendra Modi to reduce fuel consumption, Coal India Limited has launched a comprehensive green campaign. Under this initiative, the deployment of EV tippers and mandatory car pooling for officials has been implemented across all its subsidiary companies.

Officials of Coal India will now travel together in a single vehicle as part of the car pooling initiative.

Coal India has initiated a green transportation drive, making EV tippers and car pooling compulsory. Fuel conservation is now being treated as a part of corporate responsibility.

In line with the Prime Minister’s appeal to reduce petrol and diesel consumption, Coal India has issued guidelines on Wednesday mandating the deployment of EV tippers and official car pooling across all subsidiaries with immediate effect.

Coal India Chairman B. Sairam issued strict directives stating that fuel conservation must now be treated as a corporate responsibility, and all companies must implement the guidelines without delay.

Following Coal India’s directive, Bharat Coking Coal Limited has also issued immediate orders to include EV tippers in coal transportation operations. The management has already begun taking action in this regard.

An SOP for regularizing EV tippers in existing contracts has already been issued. Necessary amendments are being made in this regard. The complete plan will be made public after board approval.
