ONGC Invites Applications from Retired Executives for 37 Consultant Posts in Ahmedabad Asset; Apply by June 19

Retired ONGC personnel from Production, Drilling, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines can apply for Junior Consultant and Associate Consultant positions on a two-year contractual basis

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has invited applications from experienced retired ONGC executives for engagement as Junior Consultants and Associate Consultants in its Well Services Department, Ahmedabad Asset. The contractual engagement is aimed at strengthening supervision of work-over operations on charter-hired and O&M-operated work-over rigs.

According to Advertisement No. AMD/CONSLT-2026, ONGC plans to engage retired executives from Production, Drilling, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines with at least five years of in-line experience in work-over or drilling field operations.

A total of 37 positions are proposed under the recruitment drive. Retired executives who superannuated at E1 to E3 levels are eligible to apply for Junior Consultant positions, while those retired at E4 and E5 levels can apply for Associate Consultant posts. Retired E6-level officers may also be considered subject to availability of vacancies and their willingness to work at E5 remuneration levels.

The engagement will be purely contractual for a period of two years or until the consultant attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. Applicants must be below 64 years of age as on the date of advertisement.

Under the compensation structure, Junior Consultants will receive a monthly package of ₹40,000 during the first year and ₹41,350 during the second year. Associate Consultants will receive ₹66,000 per month in the first year and ₹68,000 in the second year, apart from reimbursement of mobile communication expenses up to ₹2,000 per month on actual basis.

The selection process will comprise evaluation of experience, academic qualifications, a written test and personal interaction/interview. The written examination will consist of 20 objective-type questions in English and Hindi, carrying a total of 50 marks, with no negative marking.

Selected consultants will be responsible for supervising work-over operations, ensuring compliance with Oil Mines Regulations and Mines Act provisions, maintaining safety standards, overseeing rig deployment activities, updating QHSE documentation and performing duties prescribed for Competent Persons under OMR-2017.

Interested candidates are required to submit the prescribed application form along with scanned copies of their ONGC Identity Card and Aadhaar Card to AMDWSPC@ONGC.CO.IN. Applications may also be submitted physically at the Contract Cell, Room No. 132, First Floor, Avani Bhavan, ONGC Ahmedabad Asset, Gujarat.

The last date for submission of applications is June 19, 2026. Details regarding the written test and interview schedule will be communicated separately to shortlisted candidates through email.
