Media’s Leading Women Shine at the 2nd INDIANPSU NARI SHAKTI SAMMAN AWARDS 2026
Top women journalists and television anchors were honoured for their fearless journalism, impactful reporting and excellence in news broadcasting

The media industry, too, would remain incomplete without acknowledging the remarkable contribution of women who have redefined journalism with courage, credibility and professionalism. Recognising their outstanding achievements, the 2nd INDIANPSU NARI SHAKTI SAMMAN AWARDS 2026 honoured some of the country’s finest women journalists and television anchors for their excellence and impact in the media landscape.
The distinguished awardees included:
- Excellence in TV Anchoring – Ms. Swati Shukla Kumar, Senior News Anchor, Bharat Express

- Excellence in National Reporting – Ms. Arzoo Sai, News Anchor, Zee News

- Excellence in TV News Anchoring – Ms. Shashi Sharma, Deputy Editor, Aaj Tak

- Outstanding TV Anchor of the Year – Ms. Payodhi Shashi Sharma, Senior Anchor, News Nation

Addressing the gathering, Vivek Avasthi, CEO of White Dolphin Media and Editor-in-Chief of www.indianpsu.com, who has been associated with journalism for more than 35 years, applauded the transformation of women in the media profession.

He observed that the outdated phrase "beauty without brains" has lost all relevance in today's media ecosystem. "The reality today is exactly the opposite. These accomplished women are no longer mere news readers; they are news leaders. They fearlessly question everyone alike—be it politicians, senior bureaucrats, police officers or business leaders. Their confidence, integrity and professionalism represent the true face of India's new media," he said.
The recognition of these accomplished journalists reflected the Awards’ broader objective of celebrating women who are breaking barriers, setting new benchmarks of excellence, and inspiring the next generation through their commitment, courage and pursuit of truth.
