CCL Provides ₹1 Crore Financial Assistance to Deceased Employee’s Family Under Corporate Salary Package

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, extended financial support of ₹1 crore to the family of a deceased employee under the company’s Corporate Salary Package (CSP) scheme.

The cheque was presented to Mrs. Sunita Devi, wife and nominee of late Mahesh Sao, who was employed at the Urimari Open Cast (OC) Project under CCL’s Barka-Sayal Area. Mahesh Sao lost his life in an unfortunate workplace accident on September 24, 2025.

The financial assistance aims to provide long-term security and stability to the bereaved family during a difficult period.

The cheque was handed over in the presence of Mr. Kumar Neelotpal, Regional Manager, State Bank of India; Mr. Vikas Kumar Pandey, Chief Manager (Team Leader, Salary Package), SBI; Mrs. Ruby Ranjan, Chief Manager (HR&IR), CCL Headquarters; Mr. Pushpak Lala, Chief Manager (HR&IR); Mr. Ajay Kumar, Staff Officer (HR&A), Barka-Sayal Area; along with other officials from CCL and the State Bank of India.

The officials described the untimely demise of Mahesh Sao as an irreparable loss and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to his family while reaffirming the organization’s commitment to employee welfare.

Expressing her gratitude, Mrs. Sunita Devi thanked the CCL management and the State Bank of India for the support, stating that the financial assistance would play a crucial role in securing her family’s future. She described the initiative as a compassionate and meaningful step towards supporting families affected by such tragedies.

CCL management reiterated that the company remains committed to the welfare, safety and social security of its employees and their dependents. The Corporate Salary Package, it said, serves as an important financial safeguard for employees’ families in times of unforeseen adversity.
