AIDEF Demands Action Against Adani Defence And Aerospace Company For Misleading Advertisement Claiming To Be India’s First Small Arms Manufacturer

Several emails to Adani Group from www.indianpsu.com seeking their response on this, did not elicit any response

In the Police Expo-2022 held on the 06 th and 07 th of July, 2022 at New Delhi, leading Manufacturers of the country installed their stalls displaying their range of products required for the Police and Security Forces. The Adani Defence and Aerospace Company also displayed their product which includes Small Arms, Uniforms etc. The display made by the Company claimed that they are the first Small Arms Manufacturer in India.

This has created a controversy since the Ordnance Factories under the Ministry of Defence are manufacturing Small Arms in India since 1904. All India Defence Employees’ Federation (AIDEF), the pioneer Trade Union of the Defence Civilian Employees of Ordnance Factories, have now lodged a complaint with the Ministry of Defence in this regard and requested Defence Secretary to take action against the Adani Defence and Aerospace Company under the provisions of Consumer Protection Act 2019 and under The Patents Act 1970.

www.indianpsu.com sent several emails to two senior officials of the corporate wing of Adani Group but there was no response from the conglomerate even after 24 hours.

The letter sent by AIDEF, dated 07.07.2022, addressed to the Defence Secretary, with copies to The Addl. Secretary (DP) – Department of Defence Production, Director General Ordnance (C&S) – Directorate of Ordnance, Chairman and Managing Director – Advance Weapon & Equipment India and Chairman and Managing Director of Troop Comfort Limited, is given below for the benefit of the viewers of www.indianpsu.com –
