AITUC Congratulates Defence Civilian Employees For Boycotting Inaugural Drama Of 7 Non-Viable Defence Companies

AITUC has extended full support and solidarity to Defence Civilian Employees in their struggle to save the 41 Ordnance Factories

The AITUC has issued a statement regarding the conversion of Ordnance Factory Board into 7 Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) by the Modi government, The same is given below for the benefit of the viewers of www.indianpsu.com

As is the practice of the present Modi Government, one more drama has been stage managed by Narenda Modi and his team. The Indian Ordnance Factories numbering 41 were established between 220 years and 40 years, While Britishers’ left the country there were only 17 Ordnance Factories. Subsequently the country realized the importance of achieving self reliance in Defence production and with the efforts of great National leaders like late Jawaharlal Nehru & Indira Gandhi many new Ordnance Factories were established in the country. All these Ordnance Factories were already inaugurated by the then Prime Ministers, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Defence Ministers, V.K.Krishnamenon, Y.B. Chawan, and Babu Jagajeevan.

Hiding all these facts and to rewrite its own history the Modi Govt. has converted the 41 Ordnance Factories in to 7 non-viable Corporations with the ulterior motive of handing over these Factories to the Private Corporates. Today a drama was staged by which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that his Govt. has dedicated 7 new Defence Companies to our Country. The 4 lakh Defence Civilian Employees, their family members and even retired employees boycotted the stage managed drama of the inauguration of 7 non-viable Companies. AITUC congratulates the Defence Civilian Employees, their family members and retired Defence Civilian Employees for boycotting this drama staged by Narendra Modi and his team. AITUC extend its full support and solidarity to the Defence Civilian Employees in their struggle to save the 41 Ordnance Factories and to save the status of 76000 employees working in these Factories as Central Govt. Employees.
