BCCL Strengthens Strategic Partnership with SAIL; CMD BCCL Meets CMD SAIL

BCCL and SAIL reaffirm commitment to ensuring uninterrupted coking coal supply, enhancing operational coordination, and supporting India's steel sector through stronger strategic collaboration

Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), Manoj Kumar Agarwal, held a formal meeting with Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda, in New Delhi on July 16, 2026. The two leaders held meaningful discussions on further strengthening the strategic partnership and cooperation between the two Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs).

During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on reinforcing the long-standing collaborative relationship between BCCL and SAIL. Key areas of discussion included ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted supply of high-quality coking coal to SAIL, enhancing operational coordination, and exploring new avenues to meet the growing requirements of India’s steel sector.

Both organizations also agreed to deepen their contribution to national industrial development by promoting operational excellence and ensuring optimal utilization of resources. The CMDs reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration in support of the country’s coal and steel sectors, while advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and sustainable industrial growth.

BCCL is India’s leading producer of coking coal, while SAIL is one of the country’s largest integrated steel producers. The long-term partnership between the two CPSUs plays a vital role in ensuring the steady availability of quality coking coal for steel production, strengthening national energy security, and supporting industrial development.
