Mandeep and Rajdeep Kaur thank BCCL for sponsorship support that enabled them to represent India at the international tournament in Uzbekistan

The Kaur sisters of Dhanbad, Mandeep Kaur and Rajdeep Kaur, who won bronze medals representing India at the WAKO Kickboxing World Cup 2026 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, met Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director Manoj Kumar Agarwal at the company’s headquarters in Koyla Bhawan.
The tournament was held from October 13 to 18, 2026. During the meeting, the sisters shared their experiences of competing at the international event and thanked BCCL and its CMD for providing sponsorship support that helped them represent India on the world stage.
Congratulating the two athletes, Agarwal said representing the country at an international competition and winning medals was a matter of pride. He encouraged them to continue their training with dedication, confidence and sportsmanship, and wished them success in future competitions.
The CMD also reiterated BCCL’s commitment to encouraging talented sportspersons and helping them access opportunities to develop their abilities and compete at higher levels.
The sisters acknowledged the importance of BCCL’s financial support, saying it had played a crucial role in enabling their participation in the prestigious World Cup. They said the international experience and medal-winning performance had strengthened their confidence and pledged to work harder to achieve greater success in future competitions, bringing laurels to Jharkhand and the country.
Residents of Nehru Road in the Chirkunda police station area of Dhanbad district, Mandeep and Rajdeep Kaur delivered notable performances in their respective categories to secure bronze medals. Their achievement has brought recognition to the sporting talent emerging from the coal belt of Jharkhand.
Coming from families with limited financial resources, the sisters’ success also highlights the importance of institutional sponsorship in helping promising athletes overcome financial barriers and compete at international events.
Through its social initiatives, BCCL has sought to promote sports and encourage young talent by extending opportunities to sportspersons to showcase their abilities at national and international levels.
The Kaur sisters’ World Cup achievement underscores how targeted sponsorship support can help athletes from smaller towns pursue international sporting ambitions and represent the country with distinction.
