Cabinet Approves Signing Of MoU Between India And Uzbekistan For Cooperation In The Field Of Solar Energy
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was apprised of signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Uzbekistan for cooperation in the field of Solar Energy.
The main area of work under is to identify research/demonstration/pilot projects between the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, India and the International Solar Energy Institute (ISEI), Uzbekistan in the following mutually identified areas:
a) Solar Photovoltaic
b) Storage Technologies
c) Transfer of Technology
Mohan Shukla, Public Policy, Government Relations and Regulatory Specialist, has hailed this initiative of the Government of India and said that solar and renewable energy is the need of the hour to save the world from pollution and protect the environment. He added that renewable energy sources do not produce CO2 emissions or other gases as it doesn’t consume fuel or require other resources, it is most needed in the present scenario not only in India but across the world.
