Faculty Deployment In Engineering Colleges Must Align With Standards: Uttarakhand CM Dhami

CM questioned the non-operation of classes in a newly constructed building at Madhdura, Pithoragarh—built at a cost of ₹15 crore for Nanhi Pari Seemant Engineering Institute

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed that all engineering colleges in Uttarakhand must adhere strictly to set standards for faculty deployment. Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat, CM Dhami emphasized the need to upgrade state engineering institutes to national standards by improving infrastructure, ensuring qualified faculty, and establishing modern laboratories.

He called for robust placement arrangements and curriculum enhancement to align with the latest technologies and industry demands. Stressing on the importance of increasing student registrations, the Chief Minister also instructed that basic amenities such as hostels, boundary walls, and road connectivity be ensured in all institutions.

Expressing strong displeasure over irregularities, CM Dhami questioned the non-operation of classes in a newly constructed building at Madhdura, Pithoragarh—built at a cost of ₹15 crore for the Nanhi Pari Seemant Engineering Institute. He ordered an inquiry into the selection of the site and the reasons for underutilization, noting that classes are still being run from a GIC building instead.

In addition, CM Dhami ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged irregularities in appointments, promotions, and operations at GB Pant Engineering College, Ghuddauri.
