Finally, PESB Agrees to Interview 12 Candidates for NCL CMD Post on July 08
Shortlisted candidates include senior executives from Coal India Limited, its subsidiaries, NALCO and Indian Oil

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) will finally, conduct interviews for the appointment of the next Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Schedule ‘B’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under Coal India Limited, on July 8, 2026, through video conferencing. A total of 12 candidates have been shortlisted for the selection process.
According to the notification issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India, the interviews will be held from 8:45 AM to 10:45 AM. The shortlisted candidates represent Coal India Limited, its subsidiaries, CMPDI, NALCO, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and the Ministry of Railways.

- Pawan Kumar Mishra – Director (Finance), Central Coalfields Limited
- Md Anzar Alam – Director (Finance), Eastern Coalfields Limited
- Darla Sunil Kumar – Director (Finance), South Eastern Coalfields Limited
- Chandra Shekhar Tiwari – Director (Technical-Operations), Central Coalfields Limited
- Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra – Director (Technical-Project & Planning), SECL
- Ashutosh Dwivedi – Director (Technical-Operations), Northern Coalfields Limited
- Rajeev Kumar Sinha – Director (Technical/Engineering Services), CMPDI
- Pankaj Kumar Sharma – Director (Production), NALCO
- Piyush Mittal – Executive Director & State Head (Telangana & Andhra Pradesh), IOCL
- N. Franklin Jayakumar – Director (Technical), South Eastern Coalfields Limited
- Anup Kumar Satpathy – Principal Chief Safety Officer, South East Central Railway, Ministry of Railways.
The PESB has directed the Ministry of Coal to ensure that the required documents, including ACRs/APARs, vigilance profiles, grading statements and other relevant records, are submitted well before the selection meeting. Candidates have also been advised to be prepared to make presentations on their achievements and vision for Northern Coalfields Limited during the interview.
