IIM Jammu Launches Fifth Mid-Career Leadership Development Programme for SAIL Young Managers
Five-day executive programme brings together 48 young managers from SAIL plants across India to strengthen leadership, strategic thinking, and managerial excellence
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has inaugurated the fifth batch of the Mid-Career Leadership Development Training Programme for young managers of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), reinforcing its commitment to nurturing future-ready industry leaders through executive education.
The five-day programme has brought together 48 young managers from various SAIL plants across the country for an intensive learning experience designed to enhance managerial competencies, strategic decision-making, leadership capabilities, and peer learning while strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research, and Programme Director, IIM Jammu. Addressing the participants virtually, Dr. Atanu Mukherjee, General Manager (Academic), Central HRD and Senior Faculty at the Management Training Institute (MTI), SAIL, highlighted the importance of continuous learning and leadership development in building future-ready organizations.
The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Ashish Kumar, Co-Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, and Prof. Ramswarup Bhaskar, Programme Director, IIM Jammu.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Prof. Ramswarup Bhaskar expressed gratitude to the SAIL management, the leadership of IIM Jammu, distinguished guests, faculty members, and participants for their enthusiastic support and participation. He expressed confidence that the programme would offer a transformative learning experience, enabling participants to strengthen their leadership capabilities and contribute more effectively to organizational growth.
The Mid-Career Leadership Development Training Programme reflects IIM Jammu’s continued emphasis on delivering high-quality executive education through immersive learning, fostering meaningful collaboration between academia and industry, and preparing professionals to address the evolving challenges of modern organizations.
The programme is being coordinated by the Executive Education and Consultancy division of IIM Jammu.
