Interaction Cum Training Programme On Profession Utility By Leadership Support & Encouragement (PULSE) Held At RINL

Members of PULSE will identify the problems or opportunity for improvements from individual experience or day to day formal/informal interactions with others

A one-day interaction cum training programme on PULSE under the auspices of Management Services department was organized at Learning & development centre(L&DC) of RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam steel plant wherein, 15 teams consisting of 55 young engineers and professionals of various departments of Visakhapatnam steel plant participated.

PULSE’ means Professional Utility by Leadership Support & Encouragement” (PULSE) is a team of young officers in various departments of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant who keenly analyse the issues/problems related to the department with the objective of finding probable solutions.

The objective of PULSE is to provide an opportunity for creative thinking among young managers as well as to promote a team building culture and to provide a forum for the young managers to become change agents.

Members of PULSE will identify the problems or opportunity for improvements from individual experience or day to day formal/informal interactions with others. The team should meet at least once in a month to discuss/deliberate different issues/ problems of the department and work on the probable solution for the same.

During Inaugural function, Shri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL, Dr Suresh Chandra Pandey, Director (Personnel),RINL, Shri S K Hirani and Shri Ghanshyam Singh, Independent Directors, CGMs and senior officials were present.

Under PULSE Scheme in one of the Project in Light and Medium Merchant Mill (LMMM) -1 of visakhapatnam steel plant, Furnace Discharge Roller Bearing’s imported lubricants were successfully indigenised leading to significant cost savings.

During interaction with the team members, Shri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL highlighted the role of Think Tanks in the present scenario and lauded implementation of Think Tanks in RINL by formulating a separate policy named PULSE. Shri Atul Bhatt appreciated the teams for their active participation by taking up innovative projects towards cost reduction at RINL.
