Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing Visits NTPC’s NETRA, Reviews Advanced Clean Energy Technologies
High-level Myanmar delegation explores NTPC’s research and innovation initiatives during visit to India’s premier power sector R&D centre

His Excellency Min Aung Hlaing, Hon’ble President of Myanmar, on Sunday, visited NTPC’s research and development centre, NETRA (NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance), accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation. The visiting delegation explored a range of advanced clean energy technologies being developed at the facility in the presence of Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC Limited.
During the visit, the Myanmar President was briefed on NETRA’s cutting-edge research initiatives aimed at supporting sustainable energy transition and enhancing energy security. The delegation reviewed various technologies and innovations focused on clean energy, carbon reduction, renewable integration, and next-generation power solutions.

The visit underscores the growing cooperation between India and Myanmar in the energy sector and highlights NTPC’s role as a leader in innovation and research for clean and sustainable energy development. NETRA serves as NTPC’s premier R&D hub, driving technological advancements in power generation, environmental sustainability, and emerging energy technologies.
Speaking on the occasion, CMD Gurdeep Singh highlighted NTPC’s commitment to developing innovative and environmentally responsible energy solutions that contribute to global sustainability goals while meeting rising energy demands.
