NCL Dispatches Highest Ever 4.1 Lakh Tonnes Coal In One Day

Northern Coalfields Limited has sent 118 coal rakes on wednesday

Northern Coalfields Limited, The Singrauli based Subsidiary of Coal India Limited has dispatched its highest ever 4.1 Lakh Tonnes of Coal to consumers on Wednesday. The record dispatch comes amid the soaring supply by NCL to meet the increasing demand for Coal. Breaking Records on a regular interval, the company in the last 2 months has achieved the ‘Highest Ever’ feat for the third time reaching 3.87 lakh Tonnes, 4 lakh Tonnes, and now 4.10 Lakh Tonnes. NCL’s path-breaking performance in terms of Coal Dispatch and its timing is assumed significance in the backdrop of spurt of the energy demand of the Nation.

The Company also sent the Highest Ever 80 Merry-Go-Round Coal laden Rakes to pit head Thermal Power Plants yesterday. Merry-Go-Round is an eco-friendly and efficient coal transportation mode that uses dedicated railway tracks from Mine to Power Plant.

Ramping up the coal supply NCL in total sent 118 Coal Trains to different consumers across the country which accounts for 80 MGR and 38 IR Rakes. On Wednesday NCL’s coal dispatch to the power sector stood up to 3.73 Lakh Tonnes.

Keeping up the pace with the nation’s requirement the NCL has dispatched 67.41MT of Coal in this Fiscal with 15% Y-o-Y growth and is committed to leap beyond its target to meet the demand.

In Spite of Post Heavy Monsoon and COVID issues, the company is posting positive growth in Coal Production and has produced 62.81 MT of coal till date in FY 21-22.

NCL is targeting 119 MT coal production and 126.5MT Coal Dispatch in this fiscal, the company is increasing its coal production and developing operational infrastructure to make the nation ‘Atmanirbhar in Coal sector with meeting the national coal demand.

NCL is Miniratna Company of Government of India operating in Singrauli and Sonbhadra Region of MP and UP respectively through its 10 Highly mechanized advanced opencast Coal Mines which are fueling some of the biggest TPPs of the Country.
