NTPC Barauni Distributes Utkarsh Merit Scholarship To 122 Meritorious Students Of 23 Government High Schools

To promote digital learning, NTPC has also established smart classes in 10 government schools

NTPC Barauni, on Saturday, under its Community Development initiatives, distributed Utkarsh Merit Scholarship to 122 meritorious students of 23 Government High Schools who passed the examination with excellent marks in class 10th and 12th.

The students were felicitated by Roshan Kushwaha (District Magistrate, Begusarai) and Shri Rajeev Khanna (Head of Project, NTPC Barauni) in a program organized at NTPC Barauni’s Community Park-Buddha Vatika (located in the Township Complex). The program started with lighting of the lamp followed by the NTPC song.

On this auspicious occasion, Shri Rajiv Khanna, HoP, NTPC Barauni congratulated the meritorious students and stated that education as the prime human right. He also stressed the importance of education for nation building. In his speech he also highlighted various development activities being carried out by NTPC Barauni.

District Magistrate, Shri Roshan Kushwaha also addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative of NTPC in strengthening and encouraging the society. In his address, he said that the Education Department and NTPC Group are committed to the same objective of enlightening the country by motivating the students and brightening the future of the country.

Subsequently, to promote digital learning, NTPC has also established smart classes in 10 government schools , which were also formally inaugurated by DM Shri Roshan Khushwaha, today.

An exhibition stall was also set up by NTPC Barauni for the students. The stall encapsulated the information about the history, work process and achievements of NTPC Barauni and also about the ongoing projects by NTPC. Information related to welfare interventions were also shared.

Utkarsh Merit Scholarship, an NTPC-CSR initiative, aims to motivate students and provide monetary assistance to children of rural India. The scheme also aims to recognize the efforts of parents in promoting education among girls and providing incentives to girl students.

On this occasion, General Manager (Operations), General Manager (Maintenance & Fuel Management), Additional General Manager Human Resources, Shri Saroj Kumar, Maitri Mahila Club President Smt. Roli Khanna, entire Human Resources team and all other official were present.

The program ended in a happy note with the big bright smiles among the students as well as their parents.
