NTPC Mouda Begins Installation of 1.4 MW Solar Power Project

First solar panels installed after completion of superstructure works; project to strengthen NTPC Mouda's clean energy initiatives

NTPC Mouda has achieved a key milestone in its renewable energy journey with the commencement of solar panel installation for its 1.4 MW Ground-Mounted Solar Power Plant, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development and clean energy generation.

The installation of the first solar panels began on June 24, 2026, following the successful completion of the project’s superstructure works. The development aligns with NTPC’s broader strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio while supporting the Government of India’s vision of increasing the share of green energy in the country’s overall energy mix.

To mark the occasion, a Pooja Ceremony was organized at the project site in the presence of Joseph Bastian, Executive Director, NTPC Mouda, S.C. Das, General Manager (O&M), senior officials of NTPC Mouda, and representatives from Kirloskar, the project execution partner.

The 1.4 MW solar project is expected to make a meaningful contribution to NTPC Mouda’s renewable energy initiatives by generating clean electricity and reducing the station’s carbon footprint. The commencement of solar panel installation is a major step towards the timely commissioning of the plant and reflects NTPC’s continued focus on environmentally sustainable power generation.

As India’s largest integrated power utility, NTPC has been steadily expanding its renewable energy capacity through solar, wind, and green hydrogen projects. The Mouda solar project further reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting India’s energy transition and achieving long-term sustainability goals.
