NTPC Mouda Inaugurates Girl Empowerment Mission 2024 Workshop

NTPC has empowered more than 4,000 girls by organizing GEM workshop across various projects

In a significant step towards gender empowerment and skill development among girls, the NTPC Mouda inaugurated the 3rd edition of the ‘Girl Empowerment Mission’s workshop on Subday. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Chief Guest, Shri K.M.K Prusty, Head of Project (HOP) NTPC Mouda, marked the beginning of a transformative journey for 42 students from 13 Zilla Parishad Schools of Mouda Tehsil.

The inauguration commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by events aimed at enriching the participants’ experiences. The event included NTPC Geet, an address by the Head of HR, a presentation and movie screening by the CSR Executive, cultural performances, and insightful sessions featuring experiences shared by past GEM participants.

While addressing the gathering, Sh. K.M.K Prusty, Head of Project, NTPC Mouda emphasized the pivotal role of initiatives like the Girl Empowerment Mission in equipping girls with essential skills and knowledge. He reiterated NTPC’s commitment to provide a conducive environment for the holistic development of girls, ensuring their safety and security throughout the duration of the workshop. The following GEM workshop is scheduled from 12th May to 7th June 2024.

The ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Smt. Sushma Prusty, President of Samruddhi Mahila Samiti, along with senior officials from various departments of NTPC Mouda. Additionally, parents and families of the participating girls, as well as employees and officials of NTPC Mouda, graced the occasion with their presence.

The GEM Workshop 2024 aims to empower girls through a comprehensive curriculum covering educational, extra-curricular, and health-related domains. By nurturing their skills and building their confidence, the workshop endeavors to prepare these young girls for a promising future. The GEM program was started in the year 2018 and NTPC has empowered more than 4,000 girls by organizing GEM workshop across various NTPC projects.

With its unwavering commitment to gender equality and community development, NTPC Mouda sets a commendable example through initiatives like the Girl Empowerment Mission, driving positive change and supporting inclusivity in society.
