NTPC Northern Region Rolls Out Indigenous Digital Platform ‘Swikriti’ for Safer, Transparent Operations

In a significant push towards digital transformation and operational safety, NTPC Limited has launched its indigenously developed Online Protection Bypass Management System (PBMS), branded as “Swikriti”, across its Northern Region.
The platform, conceptualised and developed in-house by Team Vindhyachal—bringing together expertise from the Operations and IT departments—marks a notable milestone in NTPC’s journey toward smarter, technology-driven plant management.
The system was formally inaugurated via MS Teams by Diwakar Kaushik, Regional Executive Director (North) & CEO of NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited, in the presence of B. N. Jha, senior leadership, Heads of Projects (HOPs), General Managers, and the Vindhyachal development team.
Having already demonstrated strong results at NTPC Vindhyachal, the system is now being scaled up across stations in the Northern Region as the first phase of a wider rollout.
Driving Safety, Transparency, and Efficiency
PBMS – “Swikriti” is designed to streamline the critical process of protection bypass management—a key operational function in thermal power plants. By digitising approvals and monitoring workflows, the system ensures:

The platform has been developed with collaborative support from NTPC’s corporate centres, including CC-OS, CC-DI, and CC-IT, reflecting a strong synergy between field innovation and central technical expertise.
