ONGC Invites Bids for E-Auction of Offshore Drilling Rig ‘Sagar Vijay’
Auction of the IRS-classed Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit to be held on August 7 through the MSTC portal on an "As Is Where Is" basis
India’s energy major Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has invited eligible bidders to participate in the e-auction of Rig Sagar Vijay, an IRS-classed Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) with proven offshore drilling and station-keeping capabilities.
Having played a significant role in India’s offshore oil and gas exploration for several decades, Sagar Vijay is regarded as a symbol of engineering excellence, operational resilience and maritime capability. The rig has supported ONGC’s offshore exploration and production activities, contributing to the country’s energy security.
The offshore drilling rig is being offered for sale on an “As Is Where Is” basis through the MSTC Limited (MSTC) e-auction portal.
The rig is currently located at Dighi Port, Maharashtra, and the e-auction is scheduled to be held on 7 August 2026.
ONGC has invited interested operators, offshore contractors and other eligible bidders to explore the opportunity and participate in the auction.
