RINL Celebrates World Environment Day With Bicycle Rally

RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, celebrated World Environment Day by organizing a bicycle rally at the Trishna Grounds of RINL. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the community, especially children, highlighting the commitment towards environmental conservation.
Flag Off and Pledge
The bicycle rally was flagged off by Shri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations) of RINL. He administered the LIFE (Lifestyle for Environment) Pledge, urging participants to adopt environmentally friendly habits and to motivate others to do the same. The pledge underscored the importance of making daily lifestyle changes to protect the environment.
Rally Details
Over a hundred children participated in the rally, which covered a distance of around 4 kilometers within the Ukkunagaram township. The young participants carried placards with messages such as “Land Restoration” and “Save Mother Earth,” reflecting their dedication to environmental causes.

Shri AK Bagchi addressed the participants, commending the children for their active involvement. He emphasized the role of children as brand ambassadors for RINL’s environmental conservation campaign. Shri Bagchi also praised the efforts of the Environment Management Department (EnMD) of RINL for organizing various programs in celebration of World Environment Day.
Participation and Awards
The event saw active participation from children, youth, senior officials from the Environment Management Department, and other RINL employees. Shri Pravin Kumar, Chief General Manager (Services) of RINL, also took part in the rally. At the conclusion of the event, Shri G. Phani Kumar, GM (EnMD)-In-charge & Head of the Department, presented appreciation certificates to all participants, recognizing their contribution to the cause.
