RINL Workers Hand Over Strike Notice To Management

Worker union of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, popularly known as the Vizag Steel Plant have served a strike notice to the management. The Visakha Ukku Parirakshana Porata Samithi, has written to the Chairman and Managing Director of RINL that they propose to go on strike on or after March 25, 2021.

The main demand of the union includes – 

a) To repeal the approval accorded on 27-01-2021 by the Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA) for 100 percent strategic sale of RINL

b) To scrap the inter-secretaries group constituted to study the strategic sale

c) To scrap the MOU with POSCO on 23-10-2019 to a JVC for construction of an integrated steel plant

d) To suspend the recently concluded MOU with NBCC on redevelopment and monetization of land parcels at Maddiapalerm

e) To provide permanent employment to all the left out R-Card holders

The RINL has over 17,000 permanent employees and another 14,000 contract employees and is also called the pride of Andhra Pradesh
