SECL CMD Harish Duhan Reviews Production, Mine Development and Monsoon Preparedness at Amadand OCP

Focus on coal production targets, mine infrastructure, monsoon readiness, and employee welfare during comprehensive project review

SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan visited the Amadand Open Cast Project (OCP) today and conducted a comprehensive review of mining operations, mine development activities, critical infrastructure projects, and employee welfare facilities.

During the visit, Duhan assessed the project’s coal production performance and directed the management team to intensify efforts towards achieving the targeted production capacity. Reviewing the mine plan, he emphasized the need for adequate deployment of equipment, manpower, and other resources to ensure sustainable mine development and uninterrupted coal production.

The CMD also reviewed overburden removal operations and stressed the efficient utilization of available blasting resources to maintain productivity and operational efficiency. He examined the project’s preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season, including mine drainage systems, pumping arrangements, slope stability measures, and dewatering infrastructure. He instructed officials to ensure robust water management systems are in place to facilitate smooth mining operations during the rainy season.

As part of the inspection, Duhan visited the Transportation & Loading System (TPS) area and directed concerned officials to closely monitor the progress of ongoing infrastructure works to ensure timely completion.

The CMD further inspected the NIML Camp and reviewed employee welfare facilities, including the canteen, dining hall, and kitchen. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene, food quality, and workforce welfare. Appreciating the Kitchen Garden developed within the camp premises, he encouraged continued efforts towards creating a sustainable and employee-friendly work environment.

During the visit, the CMD issued several key operational and developmental directives aimed at enhancing productivity, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening employee welfare initiatives across the project.
